The salt spilling snow shovel combines the classic snow shovel with a simple salt dispenser in order to provide a more efficient snow removal experience. This shovel includes an ergonomic handle to maximize user comfort. Salt can easily be reloaded into the device through the inlet integrated seamlessly into the handle.
I worked on this project in a team with 3 other students as a part of a course on design for manufacturability. The salt spilling snow shovel was designed in SolidWorks. The handle, blade, and salt inlet cap are designed to be injection molded out of polypropylene. The handle grip is designed to be over molded with TPE.
