Touch Nothing But The Lamp
Touch Nothing But The Lamp was based on the Disney movie Aladdin. It incorporates Abu, the Genie, the magic carpet, and the lamp. When the lamp is touched the servo motor runs (to give the illusion of the genie coming out of the lamp) and Abu’s eyes light up red. Then using IFTTT, I receive an email with 1 of 14 unique genie quotes. When I send IFTTT an email the genie spins and the eyes flash 3 times (to give the sense that the genie has acknowledged your wish).
This was an individual project. The goal of this project was to use a Particle Argon, continuous rotation servo motor, capacitive touch sensor, and IFTTT. Each of the characters were designed in SolidWorks and manufactured using laser cutting.
